Get the template

A plain spreadsheet (CSV) with 13 weekly columns and the rows lenders look for. It opens in Excel or Google Sheets. Enter your email and we will start the download and send you a copy.

How to fill it in

  1. Opening cash. Start with your real bank balance today. Each later week opens with the previous week's closing cash.
  2. Customer receipts. Use when customers actually pay, not what the invoice says. If net 30 usually means 55 days, plan for 55.
  3. Payroll and remittances. Enter the exact pay dates, and the weeks GST/HST and payroll deductions are due.
  4. Supplier payments. List what you owe by week, including anything you are stretching.
  5. Loan and lease and advance payments. Include every daily or weekly advance payment.
  6. Operating line. Show draws and repayments so you can see how much room is left.
The first useful number is the lowest closing cash. If it dips below zero, or close to it, in any week, that is when to talk to a lender, before the gap arrives rather than after.

What the rows mean

Opening cashCash in the bank at the start of the week.
Net cash movementReceipts minus every payment that week.
Closing cashOpening cash plus net movement plus any line draw. This is the next week's opening cash.

Common questions

What is a 13-week cash flow forecast?

A weekly projection of cash coming in and going out over the next 13 weeks, about one quarter. It shows when cash is tight, long before a monthly report would.

Why do lenders ask for a 13-week cash flow?

It shows whether the business can carry new payments through slow weeks, and it shows you understand your own cash cycle.

How often should I update it?

Weekly. Replace last week's forecast with actuals, then add a new week to keep 13 weeks ahead.

Do I need accounting software?

No. A spreadsheet is enough. The template is deliberately plain so you can focus on the numbers.

Can Xito review my forecast?

Yes. Request a financing review and we will tell you what a lender would see and what it might ask.

Want a second set of eyes on your numbers?

Request a financing review. We call you back within 2 hours during business hours. Same-day approval is possible, and requests under $100,000 can be funded in as little as 2 business days. No obligation.
